Painter, Sculptor, Designer

I’m an artist working in sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, and graphic design. I first worked as an advertising artist and Art Director before starting to paint again seriously thirty years ago. I have a keen interest in systems of representation from first working with symbols for corporate design clients, and further, the fine art representation of the figure in oil painting and sculpture.

My work explores formal relationships between colour and composition, representation, identity, agency, feminism, beauty, as well as examining racism, gender, the patriarchy, and genocide.

My most recent painting has been en plein air landscapes in Vancouver, B.C., and Edmonton, Alberta, and floral studies as representations of and symbolizing Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women in Canada.

Sculptural work includes two large scale soapstone pieces, currently in progress.
